DB Consultants Releases Important CMS-1500 Upgrade!
Ottsville, PA – DB Consultants, Inc., publishers of the powerful AS/PC® Practice Management System, is proud to announce that they have begun shipping the first round of program upgrades supporting the new CMS-1500 (08/05) claim form. All clients who are current with DB Consultants, Inc. will receive this upgrade well ahead of the implementation date of April 2, 2007.
The new CMS-1500 form supports the National Provider Identifier (NPI), which is gradually replacing the legacy identifiers that had been assigned by individual carriers. Because carriers may have different requirements for reporting the NPI, the legacy number and/or both, providers can control which they report on a carrier-by-carrier basis.
Because of their close monitoring of the regulatory environment, DB Consultants was the first software vendor in the nation to learn of the new form’s approval by the OMB (Office of Management and Budget). In addition, DB Consultants, Inc. has also developed Autopay®, an automatic payment processing system that posts payments in minutes what would take hours to post manually. Automatic wire transfer of funds is usually available once an office is accepting payments electronically.
